What an exciting day today for our KS2 students at NearyNógs Chocolate Factory! To finish of our topic ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, we visited NearyNógs Chocolate Factory in Attical! Pete gave us an incredible tour, showing us the journey of chocolate making from bean to bar in 26 fascinating steps. We touched and smelled cocoa beans, savoured the juice from the cocoa flesh, and marvelled at the skilled makers crafting delicious chocolate treats.
Our chocolate enthusiasts then enjoyed a delicious hot chocolate and tasting different chocolates, including a tasty chocolates with varied sugar levels and scrumptious chocolate sea salt fudge. The cherry on top was a delightful surprise from the owner Dot—white chocolate, marshmallow, and blueberry treats!
Pete shared stories about their ethically bought chocolate from Togo, West Africa, enhancing our understanding of Fairtrade, matching what we've been learning in class. A huge thank you to Pete, Dot, and everyone at NearyNógs for an unforgettable day filled with learning and sweet experiences! We can’t wait to try some more!
