Football
This year was a very successful year for the school team. At the start of the school year the team received their new kit. This seemed to spur the team on to greater things and helped improve their performance on the pitch. Before Christmas the team competed in an indoor tournament held in St Malachy’s Secondary school. The boys give a good account of themselves and won many plaudits from the many spectators. The team reached the quarter final of the Co Down league and were narrowly defeated by a strong Rathfriland side. The Junior team competed in the annual De La Salle 7’s and after 1 win and 2 defeats, the team won their final math against a much fancied Saul team. With such strong juniors pushing their way into the senior team the future of St Joseph’s football team looks to be in safe hands.
