Sports night 2014
It will be alright on the Sport’s Night!
The doubters said it would be too cold. The naysayers said it would rain. And how wrong they were… the only thing that reigned on sports night were the Saint Joseph stars of Track and Field. It was only cool if you were in the shade of the sporting excellence on show.
Yes if you like small people running at relatively high speeds, a burger at a reasonable price and a luke warm Capri-sun you came to the right place.
As soon as the whistle blew for the first highly contested race of the evening the sun broke through the clouds. Even the sun himself/herself (Gender of the sun unknown) wanted to make an appearance at the mostly keenly awaited sporting event in any calendar year.
Race followed race… The excitement and tension growing with each passing moment. History books rewritten as record after record tumbled to the greatest gathering of athletes Ballykinlar has ever seen. Many came….few won…but in St Joseph’s everyone is a winner and a wonderful time was had by all.
The school would like to express a big thank you to anyone who managed a stall.. helped at the BBQ or fought off the Hordes of people whose love for Tombola was only matched by their generosity and spirit. And just to remind people, 53 is not a winning ticket and all food items at the Tombola where in date at time of purchase!
