Shoeless girl leaves speechless audience.....
On Wednesday the 16th of December the boys and girls of Saint Joseph’s put on their annual school play. A preview of the play was held on the Monday morning. This preview was watched by local schools and was given the thumbs so up, so it was with great confidence that the child tread the boards on Wednesday night.
And what a show it was! From the humble villagers to the mighty Wicked Witch, everyone acted their socks off, or shoes as in the case of Cinderella who was wonderfully played by the superb Sorcha. Buttons played by the very talented Ella had the audience rolling in the aisles with his/her (Buttons always confuses me but then as the children would often say I am easily confused!) quick retorts and limericks. And who will ever forget the amazing performance of the ugly sisters, Ralph, Amber and Dillon who was performing in his last primary school play. Well done Dillion, saving the best to last!
Every child deserves a mention for their superb performances and to name them all here would take a life time, alright… maybe 20 minutes but either way it would take too long so to paraphrase a song from the play, the list is too big, too big, too big!
A big thank you to Mrs Savage and Lynn for the amazing costumes and props.. Without them the show would lack the colour and warmth that it has every year. Finally a big thank you to all who watched…without you there would be no show. Roll on next year for panto 2016!
