Pupils dress to impress as they celebrate World Book Day
At St.Joseph’s, we constantly endorse the importance of and pleasure inReading. We are always looking for ways to promote good reading habits and introduce the children to new and exciting books so on Thursday 7th March we joined in the global celebration of books.
Children and some staff members transformed themselves into their favourite characters from a range of books. Dressed as Oompa-Loompas, Snow White, Mr. Wonka, Where’s Wally? Harry Potter and a variety of other characters the children looked amazing. Thanks to mums/dads/grannies, etc who went to so much effort to make the costumes. The children were very excited and at assembly each child introduced themselves as their character and told the audience about the character and book. The assembly finished with a class parade around the hall.
Later the P4, 5, 6 & 7 enjoyed a World Book Day Quiz with Mr McVeigh, The day was a huge success enjoyed by children and staff alike. More pictures are available on the 'Busy Term' Slideshow.
