P1/2 Autumn Walk
Our Autumn Walk in Castlewellan
A very excited bunch of P.1 and P.2’s set off on a blustery morning for Castlewellan Forest Park.
First we had our snack in the forest park café and then we were all set for our walk.
We walked half way round the lake and enjoyed kicking the leaves and taking bark rubbings of the huge trees.
The children had a lot of fun running in and out of the trees and collecting all different types of leaves for our Autumn tray to make our leaf pictures with.
Finally, before we left we made a little house for ‘Harry the Hedgehog’ by gathering lots of leaves and putting twigs on the top for a roof.
Jamie wanted to stay and watch if any hedgehogs would visit it alas we had to go back to school.
We had a really great time!
