P6/7 Live Lessons with the BBC for National Poetry Day.
Today is National Poetry Day.
This afternoon Primary 6 and 7 children were lucky enough to be enrolled on a live lesson with the BBC.
The lesson was broadcast to thousands of children in schools all over the U.K.
The lesson was delivered by famous poets Joseph Coelho and Tony Walsh and hosted by author and presenter Katie Thistleton.
We were given the opportunity to submit some words, phrases and sentences to be used as part of a poem created as a group.
We created amazing similes and metaphors as well as looking into different writing styles including alliteration, onomatopoeia and even Haiku.
The most exciting part of the lesson, however, was when our school got a shout out.
