Journey of the Dinosaur
Just Last Week at St Josephs's
Our primary 4 and 5 pupils embarked on an exciting journey into the past as they engaged in a fascinating science project – the creation of cast fossils using modroc. The classroom buzzed with enthusiasm as each pupil took on the role of a palaeontologist, carefully crafting their very own replicas of dinosaur droppings!
The project was a comprehensive part of our science curriculum, designed to ignite curiosity about the world of fossils and the ancient giants that once roamed the Earth. Our young scientists learned how fossils form and the stories they can tell us about historical environments and behaviours.
With sleeves rolled up, the children mixed, moulded, and brought to life something truly prehistoric. It was a brilliant hands-on experience that reinforced their understanding of natural history and allowed them to appreciate the wonders of our planet's past. These activities also encouraged teamwork and problem-solving skills, essential components of our learning ethos.
We are incredibly proud of the creativity and dedication our students demonstrated. Each of them left the classroom not only with a unique fossil but also with a deeper understanding of Earth's history and an eagerness to learn more.
Stay tuned as we continue to delve into the wonders of science!
