Firefighters Visit
Today we had a visit from the local firefighters. They gave a talk to Primary 4 and 5 about fire safety.
They spoke to the children about many ways of preventing fires, such as making sure all cigarettes were extinguished, all electrical equipment should be switched off and unplugged when not in use and how we all should have a working fire alarm in our homes
They also talked to the children about the importance of having a Fire Escape Plan at home and in school.
The firefighters talked to the children about to report a fire and what information they would need to give to the operator they explained how ‘Prank’ calls can have serious consequences.
The children asked the firefighters questions at the end of the talk and all the children were presented with a ‘Safety Team’ folder
