Congratulations to P7 Pupil Ella, who has achieved great success in Irish Competitions over the past year. Here is an account of her recent accloades:
CRDM ALL IRELANDS CHAMPIONSHIPS
I competed in the All Ireland Championships at the end of June 2015. They were held in the City West Hotel Dublin.
I competed in 3 solo dances. I placed 9th, 6th and 2nd in those dances. I also competed in two championships.
The first championship was Intermediate Championship in which I dance a reel and the second was the Prelim Championship in which I had to dance reel and a treble jig.
When everyone had finished dancing they then started the adjudication.
You have to go on stage and they call the results in reverse order. When they get down to the top 5 they are brought to the front of the podium. In the Intermediate Championship I was in the top 5. I came 3rd! I was so pleased with my results. I was given a medal, sash and cup and placed on the podium.
Then it was time for the Prelim results. I wasn’t expecting to do as well in this championship as it was more difficult and the standard was extremely high. But I was place 7th.
This was such a proud day for me and my family who were there to support me. Also for my dancing school and teachers as they had dedicated so much time getting all of us ready for this competition.
