P4 celebrate the Sacrament of First Communion

25th May 2016

Holy Communion was held on Saturday the 21st of May in the church of Saint Patrick’s and Saint Joseph’s. The primary four children had been preparing for this special sacrament throughout the year. The pupils have been following the “Do This in Memory Of Me” programme which prepares the children for this day through regular masses and various other activities.

The Boys looked dashing dressed in suits whilst the girls looked beautiful in their white dresses. The children read excellently and they conducted themselves throughout the mass with great decorum. The mass included the singing of the Our Father and a beautiful Marion possession. Ave Marie was sung beautifully by the girls as the children lay a single flower at the foot of the statue of Our Lady.

Afterwards the families came to the school hall for a welcomed cup of tea, a sandwich and a bun. So we would like to give a big Congratulation to all the boys and girls who made their First Communion. You made your families both at home and in school very proud. WELL DONE!

Thanks to the parents in Primary 3 and staff who kindly made sandwiches and other tasty treats for us to enjoy. A special thanks to our resident florist Nannie Marie, who made beautiful floral arrangements for the tables.
